For this mural, I decided to paint an agave plant and connect it back to its original roots of indigenous Mesoamerica.
I created the face of the Aztec goddess of Agave (Mayahuel) looking over the plant, because in her origin story, it is said that at the end of her life, she transformed into the Agave plant that we know and appreciate today.
